  • Books Make Anything Possible

    Posted on June 28, 2017 @ 11:15 am

In order to find yourself, you have to lose yourself. Who would think to take a phrase such as this one serious? But this is true, if you want to find yourself, you must first lose yourself. How do you go about losing yourself? Simple, got lost in a book. Books are magical devices that make anything possible. From learning how to fix your own car to getting lost in someone else’s drama. Books make anything possible. According to an article, books are a way to get lost in a story. Books serve as an escape for our hectic lives into a different reality. Books allow us to detach from the present pain and drift into another realm where anything is possible. It does not matter your interest because books cover so much  such as: mystery, drama, fiction, nonfiction, autobiographies, biographies, self-help, cooking, textbooks and everything in between.  According to another article, books can transport you back in time to a different century and even to another world. Books can serve to educate as well as a means of escape. Think of the great vocabulary you can build up when you read lots of books. Books can even make you a better writer yourself. Finally, you don’t need electricity or a WiFi zone to read books which make them great companions to travel with. If you need light, than candlelight should work just fine.

    I Have New Books!

    Posted on July 24, 2010 @ 2:53 pm

One upside of being sick is getting spoiled by my sweetheart.  🙂 🙂 🙂  Last Wednesday, after leaving  ER, where I was diagnosed with a respiratory tract infection, we passed by the bookstore.  Hubs said I can get all the books I want.  Woot!  But of course I didn’t abuse his generosity.  I only bought 6 books.  🙂 🙂 🙂  I didn’t get to read a lot though because of my heavy head.  But now I’m well and feeling so much better… I can get to them now!

    Make Him Love Books

    Posted on August 16, 2008 @ 2:14 am

In this age of computers and video games, most kids do not take time to read books anymore. Reading is the foundation of our kids’ success in school and it is our duty as parents to help them become not necessarily a bookworm but a better and skilled reader.

While my daughter loves to read, my son is the opposite. So, to encourage him to read more, hubby and I make it a point to pass by the bookstore every time we go out. I let him scan the shelves for titles he might be interested in. I even subscribed him to kids’ magazines like K-zone and Archie Comics. I’m glad this strategy is working and he seems to enjoy them.

How about you? Do your kids love to read or they are just like my son?
