Unwanted Hair Dilemma

I’ve never had problems with shaving the hair on my legs.  One because I rarely go out of the house and two, I would much rather wear jeans than skirt.  But for my daughter who’s always out and who loves wearing dresses and skirts, this is her dilemma.  She has considered Brazilian wax but eventually chickened out because she heard it was a painful procedure, not to mention expensive.  She really didn’t mind shaving her legs every so often but when her schedule became tighter, she wanted to free herself of this “almost” daily ordeal.

Her friend recommended laser hair removal. She is seriously considering it so I thought it would be best if I do a little research first.  I’ve heard of it before but I never knew someone who went through with it, so I wanted to make sure if it’s safe.  This is what I found, the treatment works by targeting the pigment (I suppose it’s the root of the hair) in the hair with the light from the system, and upon absorption the light is converted into heat. This intense heat action breaks down the hair follicle, reducing the opportunity for any re-growth and also changing the entire structure of the follicle itself; overtime altering the density and appearance of the hair until it becomes unnoticeable.

It’s a safe and painless procedure and considering the convenience of not having to shave over and over again, the price is acceptable.  Of course it also depends on where you decide to have it done, some clinics are quite pricey.  Now that I know it is safe and painless, I can tell daughter to go on with it.
