Every Second Counts

Emergencies occur everyday. But when every second counts, it’s best that you know CPR or own an AED. When CPR just isn’t enough, the AED can be the last option to save a life. The heart pumps air to the brain and even just a matter of minutes can greatly affect a patients wellbeing. With ease of use and simplicity, just about anyone can use this device. It’s best to know CPR and even better if you have an AED on hand.

When Keith Entered Rehab

One of the women I admire most in showbiz is Nicole Kidman.  I admire her not just for talent.  She’s a very strong woman and I admire how she balances being a celebrity, a wife and a new mom to her daughter, Sunday Rose.  I recently read an article about her and her husband Keith Urban, a country balladeer, that he had to enter rehab for alcohol abuse shortly after they got married in 2006.

After Keith was admitted in an alcohol rehab, Nicole was devastated.  Yet the ups and downs gave her perspective.  She said, “The only way you can understand things is through contrast, so you’ve got to have youth to have age.  Give me sadness so I can have happiness.”  Addiction is very prevalent in our society, and it can be shattering to people in the relationship.  Nicole and Keith worked through it together and the 90-day rehab stint taught them a lot of things.

To experience joy together is very easy, but when you experience pain together, it can lead to such depth and such union.  That’s the time you truly bind together as a couple.  And for both them, the experience gave them deep honesty and greater love.  Keith and Nicole’s story is truly inspiring.  I hope couples who are going through the same trial will follow their path.
