Surprisingly, there are worse things your child will touch than the toilet seat. Here are some of them, and you’ll want to thoroughly clean your kid’s hands after he comes in contact with them.

PLAYGROUND EQUIPMENT – Kids always have the most fecal bacteria on their hands when they return from the playground. In one study, 20% of playground equipment was infested with this contaminant.

SHOPPING CARTS – About 70% have fecal bacteria on them, largely because of kids sitting in those little seats that carts have.

HIGH CHAIRS – Out of 30 restaurant high chairs, 17% were contaminated with E. coli and 10% with methicillin-resistant staph.

RESTAURANT TABLES -”Cleaning” a table can actually make it dirtier. In an analysis of 10 restaurants, tabletops have 45 times more bacteria, including E. coli on them after they had been wiped: towels used to sponge off tables are not always thoroughly washed.

ELEVATOR BUTTONS – The 1st floor button is always the germiest because everybody has to touch it to get out.

PHONES - In homes with sick kids, 80% of phones were contaminated with the flu virus.

The Importance Of Visuals

The legal system is adapting to the signs of the times. Legal luminaries now use visuals in building cases. Before, documents were the only ones used as exhibits in legal battles. With the advances in technology, presentations such as illustrations, animations and even power point presentations are being used by lawyers in their court cases. This adds not only realism but allows the judge and jury to appreciate the merits of the case at hand.

Most cases are won or lost on the strength and weakness of testimonies and evidence. In cases wherein technical terms are too complex to understand, visual presentations can bridge the comprehension gap. Medical cases and lawsuits can benefit from such medium. Medical Legal Exhibits will allow the layman to understand the more technical aspects of a particular case. This will not only simplify but give a more appreciable understanding for both the judge and jury.

At the end of the day, a level playing field will be created as perception and speculation will be greatly minimized. Decisions rendered will be more fair as the information shown will be clearly understood by everyone involved in the case. Courts are there to give both defendant and accuser a fair shake. A good and clear presentation will do just that.

A Visit To The Mainland

Hubs and I are checking out these Disney vacation packages offered on the internet. It’s for my daughter who’s graduating this March from college. We originally planned to give her a car but I’m afraid our budget can’t afford it at this time. We thought of a tour instead. She’s already been to several countries in Asia so I figured a trip to the US would be perfect. I’m sure she’d love to see her cousins and my siblings.

13.5 pounds, 20 to go

At 42, it isn’t easy getting rid of the flab I’ve accumulated through the years. I had to sweat it all out and control my hunger pangs before I lost 13.5 pounds. If not for the herbal diet supplements, I don’t think I’ll ever lose. I started without it, working out 30 minutes a day. I’d lose half a pound and gain it back again the next day. I was starting to get frustrated, thinking no matter how hard I tried, I’m not losing weight. I knew I needed a booster so I asked my doc if herbal diet supplements are alright. He gave me a go and it’s working!

On My Way To Slim

I started with my weight loss plan last November and I lost 10 pounds before the holidays. I’d say the hardest part was during that period, all those food and sweet treats were so tempting but I’m happy I only gained three pounds. The credit goes to the best weight loss supplement I am taking. As soon as the holidays were over, I immediately worked on my weight loss plan. It wasn’t easy getting rid of the three pounds I gained but I did it and was able able to lose three more. I still have a long way to go, though.
