Still to come in the Spring bloomers are the Mock Oranges and Lemon Lilies.  Other plants blooming now are some daffodils, remaining Camellias, various Ajugas, Muscari, species tulips, and surprisingly early Geum ‘Cookie’.

Product Review: Kandle Flex by Ozeri

    Posted on April 18, 2015 @ 10:26 pm

Reading before bed is a part of my routine. No matter how tired or sleepy, I make sure I read even just a few pages to complete my day. Reading with the lights on, of course, is healthy for the eyes. But lately, I noticed that doing so tires my eyes easily. It’s due to the strong glare of a fully lit room. Then I was given the opportunity to review the Kandle Flex by Ozeri.

    ozeri_kandle 3

    ozeri_kandle 4

    Product Description

    * Kandle by Ozeri Flex features a fully adjustable flexible neck that is infinitely customizable for positioning of the lamp head.
    * Powered by 3 surface mounted lifetime LEDs, optimized to distribute light evenly without creating glare or eyestrain.
    * Newly designed power button features soft light and ultra bright settings for the perfect screen illumination.
    * New patent-pending WideLip (TM) design attaches to the Kindle (TM), Sony® Reader and other eBook readers without blocking the screen.
    * Includes 2 CR2032 batteries installed (plus, an extra set batteries) and protective pouch.

    My Thoughts

The reading light is small and lightweight. I like the size of the clip because it fits perfectly on my Nook without obstructing the screen. It also works for my daughter’s iPad Mini and my son’s Digiland.

The power button allows you to adjust the light easily from soft to bright or vice versa. Lifetime LEDs were used, so you can be sure they don’t eat up a lot of battery juice. Your purchase includes 4 batteries in all and a black pouch to keep and protect it.

Reading my favorite ebooks at night is so much fun now with the Kandle Flex Light. The neck is very flexible and I can easily direct it to my preferred position. My eyes feel more relaxed as well because of its soft light.

Overall, I love this reading light because I can read comfortably even with the lights (of the room) turned off. If you are looking for a nice reading light for your ebook reader, this is a great product to try.

    Where to buy?

You can purchase the Kandle by Ozeri Flex through the Moderna website and on Amazon. It retails at CDN$ 22.95 and includes FREE shipping. To know more about the Kandle and their other products, please visit their Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/OzeriProducts.

Disclosure: I received a sample of this product free of charge for the purpose of this review. All opinions expressed here are 100% my own and was in no way influenced by anyone or the brand.

Product Review: UV Sanitizing Wand by My BioDefense

    Posted on April 17, 2015 @ 11:16 pm

For a husband who’s a neat freak, sanitizing gels, wet wipes, Lysol and alcohol are always on my grocery list. When I was invited to review the UV Sanitizing Wand by My BioDefense, I thought this would be a good opportunity for me to not just have a clean surface all the time, but save money as well on sanitizing stuff.

    Product Description

Ready To Kill 99% Of Germs Wherever You Go…w/o Using The Expensive, Harmful “Traditional Methods”? Keeping Germs Away Has Never Been Easier! Sanitize In Seconds! Looking for a way to keep all sorts of surfaces or devices clean at home or on the go? Want to stop getting sick, without using harmful chemicals? Stop wasting time with the old methods…take this with you to sanitize with the most effective technology around, Ultra Violet-C light! Destroy germs and deodorize hard surfaces anywhere, …keeping you and your family safe and healthy! Enjoy living free from sickness caused by bacteria, and germs. If you’ve tried other products but weren’t happy with the results…you NEED to give this a try! It is a truly effective and easy tool to use. Don’t risk your health; get the clean environment you need and want.

    My Thoughts

The sanitizing wand is battery operated, but it also comes with a USB cord, so you can plug and use it at home to save the batteries. The wand is lightweight and not bulky. I can easily slip it in my purse or pocket and bring it anywhere I go.

    mybiodefense 7

Sanitizing a surface is a cinch. You simply turn it on and wave it over whatever it is you want to sanitize. I like that it only takes seconds to sterilize a surface. You have to be very careful though, as UV rays can be harmful. When using it, make sure that your skin doesn’t come in contact with the UV light.

    mybiodefense 5

    mybiodefense 6

Overall, I like the wand. It comes in handy whenever we are out of the house. Instead of using wet wipes for grocery carts, I simply wave the wand on the handle and I can be sure that I’m touching a clean surface. My husband brings it with him all the time. I highly recommend this.

    Where to buy?

You can purchase the UV Sanitizing Wand through the My BioDefense website and on Amazon. The wand is fairly priced at $35.00 and shipping is free. Another good thing about this product is you can try it out for a week. If you are not satisfied with it, you can return it for a full refund.

    Orange-Cranberry-muffin

I use fresh cranberries for this Orange Cranberry Muffin recipe, not the sugary dried ones.  They are easily obtainable at the market year round and I don’t worry that the recipe doesn’t use the whole bag.  You can freeze the extras but they also store for a long time in the vegetable draw.  But these muffins are so good you’ll be repeating this recipe and using them all up before they go bad, trust me!
