    peppermint mocha

Hubs brought home a cup of peppermint mocha. He knows this is my favorite drink to keep me up at night and finish all my articles. This and some soft music coming from the adam a5x at guitar center that hubby installed in my office will help me finish all my pending articles that I need to submit in tomorrow. maybe you’re wondering why I work at night, but this is the quietest time I have for myself when everyone else is asleep. It’s the best time for me to write and blog because I can think fast and there won’t be any interruptions.

    Hubs’ Dream

    Posted on @ 12:00 am

Looking for trailer sales? My husband’s dream is to own an rv someday so we can go on a road trip anywhere when we retire. He loves to browse the internet looking for affordable trailers. You can click here to shop for rv and trailers if you too, are looking for this type of vehicle. RVs are expensive but if you know where to shop, you’ll get a great deal. Hubs drools every time he sees a beautiful rv. Hopefully, we’ll be able to buy one before we both retire.

With SmartFares, Fun Is Easy to Find in Austin

    Posted on @ 1:31 pm

The capital of Texas is an eclectic blend of music, high tech, blue collar and small town styles. Austin calls itself “The Live Music Capital of the World” because of its long-standing support of musicians and live music venues. The popular PBS show “Austin City Limits” is famous worldwide and showcases national and international musicians.

After finding the cheapest airline prices using the SmartFares website, it’s only a matter of deciding where to start in Austin. The money you save with the SmartFares lowest price guarantee gives you more to spend on Austin’s main attractions, as well as some of the lesser-known sites.

    Arts, Education and Culture

Live music is everywhere in Austin, even at the airport terminal. To fully experience the vibrant music scene, take a trip down 6th Street. Nightclubs, restaurants, bars, coffeehouses and live music venues are everywhere with music for every taste. Austin hosts music festivals throughout the years, such as the Urban Music Festival, Old Settler’s Music Festival and the Fun Fun Fun Fest. Find a wide range of music, from classical to pop, at the Austin Symphony Orchestra.

Music isn’t the only thing Austin has to offer. Outdoor recreational activities, historical discoveries, artistic endeavors and unique shopping experiences await you.

History buffs find no shortage of attractions in Austin. The French Legation Museum in downtown Austin is the oldest still-standing frame structure in the city. It was the diplomatic outpost of France when Texas was still a republic. Of special interest is the detached Creole kitchen.

The George Washington Carver Museum is a tribute to Austin’s African-American heritage. The museum houses a theater, museum, library and dance studio. Also celebrating Austin’s Black heritage, the Madison Log Cabin in Rosewood Park was built by Henry G. Madison, a pioneering homesteader.

The LBJ Presidential Library chronicles the life of Lyndon Baines Johnson, the 36th president of the United States. Less than an hour from Austin is the Lyndon Baines Johnson National Historical Park. The park is home to LBJ’s ancestors’ first cabin, his boyhood home and his famous ranch.

Mexican American arts and heritages take the stage at the Mexican American Cultural Center. Educational programs include visual art, dance, literature, theater, music and the culinary arts.

Austin is a city of lakes, hiking and biking trails. The Lady Bird Lake Hike and Bike Trail in the heart of Austin takes hikers and bikers through spectacular scenery with skyline views. The lake is ideal for other activities, such as canoeing, kayaking and, if you are looking for something new, stand-up paddle boarding.

    The Unusual and Offbeat

Music, arts and cultural activities are plentiful in Austin, but there are also some unusual places to see. The Littlefield House was built in 1894 for Austin’s then mayor, George Washington Littlefield. Historical significance aside, it’s said to be haunted.

If you visit in the spring to late fall, check out the Congress Avenue Bridge at dusk to see thousands of bats leave the cover of the bridge for their nightly feeding. Or, for an authentic Texas experience, go to the Broken Spoke, a dyed-in-the-wool honky-tonk. If movies are your thing, head for the Alamo Drafthouse, featuring cult favorites, unique movie trailers and a full menu and bar.

Austin is a place as diverse as the people who live there. Ideal weather and more fun things to do than you can count make Austin a delightful vacation destination.

A Salty Sip for Colds and Fever

    Posted on November 18, 2013 @ 3:23 pm

    ceelin plus 6

Giving plenty of liquids when a child gets a cold and fever always works. And so do chicken broth. Why? When you sweat from fever, you lose sodium and electrolytes, and salty beverages work perfectly to replace them. Have your little one sip one cup every three to four hours. Dry lips and urine that’s very yellow and concentrated are signs of dehydration. If you see either, give him more to drink.
