  • Soothe Seasonal allergies with Honey

    tea_honey

Red and watery eyes and runny nose are the symptoms of seasonal allergies. Sometimes the symptoms are coupled with fever, but instead of reaching for meds right away to help your kid feel better, try this at home cure. Give him tea sweetened with locally produced honey a few times a day. Consuming local honey is thought to help the body learn to better tolerate exposure to pollen. And since both tea and honey have anti-inflammatory properties, the sweet drink will also soothe inflamed tissues in

    Gorgeous Pendant Light from Poulsen

    Posted on @ 5:38 pm

    pendant light

I just love this pendant light I found at poulsen lighting online. It has three staggered shades that are perfect in the living room. I don’t like yellow lights because they make a room dull , but I don’t like white lights that are too bright either. I like this one because the shades can be adjusted to your liking and they have carefully been staggered according to the salesman in order to avoid any direct glare from the light source. They have a lot of gorgeous designs on their website, i suggest you check them out if you’re looking to buy pretty lighting for your home or office.

Hope you’d drop by and visit his blog and I also hope Lars Ingvar wouldn’t mind that I did a “prntscrn” on his photo. I wanted to email him to ask for a copy but something happened to my blog and was down for several days. Apparently, a malware script infected the site. We had to do a major cleanup to make sure all malicious codes were eliminated and that took us some time. I’d also like to apologize to all of you for not visiting and commenting on your entries last week.

    Snowflakes Christmas Invitation Wordings

invites for Christmas snowflakes party theme

Of all the invites our office had sent over the years, the invitation that we will be sending this year to all employees is the cutest. The snowflakes Christmas invitation wordings were written by the boss himself. The annual Christmas party is the only party we have in our office that is why the boss wants it very festive. Aside from the fun games and raffle prizes, each department is asked to perform a number. The best performers will be chosen and will be given special prizes. Food and drinks are overflowing and the finale is when we get our gifts and bonuses.

I’m always the one who takes care of the invites and I always order from www.InvitationsByU.com. When I showed him the party invitations with snowflakes Christmas theme that I have chosen for this year, the boss volunteered to write the wordings. The staff at Invitations By U work really fast because they print and ship your order the same day your approve it. If you’re in need of invites for any occasion, the site also offers free invitations cards and free shipping.

Divorce After Divorce in the US

    Posted on September 25, 2013 @ 3:30 pm

Divorce can be a stressful, devastating, confusing and sad experience to any couple. More so for their children because they are the most affected when parents separate. Statistics show that divorce rate in the US is very high in couples without kids.

Although marriage is sacred for me and I believe in continuously working on it, I don’t see any reason why couples should live together when things aren’t going well for them. Basically, I am okay with divorce if there are no kids involved. But if you have kids, my advise for couples is to work on your marriage and try to compromise for the sake of the children. While the divorce rate is high in the US, it still feels good to know that married people there are less like to end up in divorce when they have children. At least they consider their children’s welfare first before taking a big leap.

Do you put off home repairs?

    Posted on September 19, 2013 @ 5:06 pm

    Graphic Source

Do you put off home repairs because of lack of funds and because they are expensive? There are actually some things you can do to avoid spending much on home repairs. DIY savvy or not, there are a few house quick fixes you should know about. This will actually save you thousands of dollars if you know how to prevent small damages from getting worse. Below are some tips you should know about home repairs.

    Painting

The easiest way to improve the appearance of a room is through paint. It sounds easy but painting a room takes time. You have to prepare well for this (remove fixtures, clean the walls, cover holes and smooth rough surfaces) for best results. Applying primer to sanded areas is next after you have cleaned the walls. Then mask any molding or other surfaces that shouldn’t be painted. Once you’ve finished all that, you are now ready to paint.

    Dealing with doors

Doors need repair and maintenance from time to time. Squeaks and sticking door are just minor problems that you can easily solve. If your door is squeaky, a drop or two of oil is what your door hinge needs. If your door sticks, it could be that the wood had swell. Just use a carpenter’s plane to scrape a thin layer of wood and your good.

    Applying caulk.

Caulk is a seal that protects walls and floors from moisture. It is usually applied between your shower, tub or sink and the wall. Caulk can deteriorate over time and checking and replacing them once in a while can prevent further damage.

    Repairing faucets

Repairing a leaky faucet is very simple. First you should shut off the water then unscrew and remove faucet handle. Sometimes it just needs cleaning or sometimes you only need to seal it with a teflon tape to make it tighter.

    Unplugging a Clogged Toilet

A job we all hate but it’s something we have to face. Determine the cause of the problem. It could be that a foreign object may have fallen in the toilet bowl by accident. Just grab a pair of gloves and try to fish the object out. Using a plunger is your next step if it didn’t work.

Simple repairs like those mentioned above can save you a lot money and it won’t hurt you to check your house every once in a while.

    Eliminate Dog’s Foul Odor

    Posted on September 16, 2013 @ 2:49 pm

    dog

They say dousing your dog with tomato juice helps get rid of foul smell. The truth? It does help a little, but it’s messy and costly. If you really want to get rid of the odor, bathe your dog in equal parts white vinegar and water. The mixture is much more acidic than tomato juice, so it will nix even strong smell in no time. It’s cheaper and a lot more effective. And here’s a bonus: the easy to rinse solution will make your dog’s coat gleam.
