Been using my telephoto lens for close-up sunset shots. I like how it makes the sun look gigantic! It just gives it a different look and feel, especially since I am used to a 17mm wide angle. Anyway, here’s a recent shot I like… kinda looks like the spiny Joshua Tree is hugging the sun!

    The Value in SEO Services

    Posted on @ 3:22 pm

Ask anyone who works in the search engine optimization industry what their largest frustration is with providing SEO services to clients and they will tell you, “The lack of understanding that people have about the value of the services we provide.” It is not easy for everyone to grasp the potential value of the services being received. However, it comes with the territory and will be that way for some time to come.

    What Is Search Engine Optimization?

Search engine optimization can be described as the work done on and off a website that helps it to rank well in the search engines for a particular keyword or phrase. This work can be considered a science, or an art, or both. The reality is the factors that play into getting a webpage to rank well in the search engines changes constantly. In some regards, it is a science because there is math involved and precise factors to follow. On the other hand, it is an art, because it takes some creativity, a feel for what is going to work and what will not. Some basic factors that have not changed over the years include having the keyword or phrase in the title of the page, in the content of the page, and in links pointing back to the page. However, how much is a large factor that is always evolving.

    Understanding the Value

To help clients understand the value of SEO services, they must understand what can be gained through obtaining the top spots in Google and other search engines. This can be tricky at times, but most business owners have a good idea of what it will do for their business. However, what they do not get is how long it will take to get to the top. A business owner may also not know that it can be tough to get those last few spots. A company that can explain, in clear detail, what is to be expected and how things may progress along the way is the company that can be successful. The trick for any company is to have the ability to set correct expectations and then help clients remember that things are on course when they panic before it is time to panic.

    Men and their stuff

    Posted on @ 12:16 am

Men! I can’t understand why they have to complicate things. While doing my weekly grocery shopping I got a text message from my husband asking me to buy him an electrically conductive adhesive. I had no idea what in the world was that. Tried calling him but he was probably too busy working that he didn’t hear my call. I had to google it before heading to the hardware and found out it’s an epoxy glue.   The staff immediately knew what it was when I asked. Am I the only one who doesn’t know what it was? 🙁

    Applying SPF without the Fuss

    Posted on August 22, 2013 @ 4:03 pm

You know you should always keep your kids safe from the sun. But, if applying spray on SPF on your fidgety kid’s tiny face is such a chore, and you’re afraid you might spray on her eyes, here’s a simple trick. Use a large makeup brush. Just mist the bristles with the spray and sweep the brush over your child’s face as if applying makeup, gently rubbing in any excess with your fingers. Respray the brush as needed. The bristles will evenly spread the solution to skin, while the brush’s light touch will squelch the squirmies.

    Posted on @ 2:57 pm

There are millions of banks just waiting for your business. Getting the best deals are not as hard as you might think. Just keep in mind what you want and do not worry about all the extra fluff they try to put into things. Many of those extra items will end up costing you more in the long run. Focus on what you want and need from a bank, this will help to keep more of your money in your pocket.

    Balance Requirements

Many banks will require a minimum balance on an account to avoid monthly maintenance fees. There are many banks that will offer accounts with no monthly fees without having to meet this balance requirement. Check around in your area to see which one would be easier for you to deal with.

    ATM Fees

This can include fees that your bank charges or the atm charges. Make sure that the bank you choose has plenty of atms available for your use to avoid paying these fees. Many of these atms can have fees as high as $5 per transaction.

    Statement Fees

Technology is wonderful, but gone are the free paper statements because of it. Your bank may charge you a $1 to $2 fee just for dropping that statement in the mail box each month. If you can access the internet, it may save you some money to handle your bank statement online.

    Interest Accounts

Interest bearing accounts are a great way to get some of your money back. Explore this possibility of the different interest bearing bank accounts available at banks like Halifax. Many banks offer interest bearing accounts with no minimum deposit and no minimum balance.

    Watch Overdraft

Many banks will offer a standard overdraft protection for their clients. Make sure to not use this. On average an overdraft item can cost as much as $40 per transaction. This can add up to a hefty sum over time. Always keep accurate records in your checkbook to make sure that you do not overdraft your account.

Banks are there to make money and while offer many options; banks like Halifax try to approach customer service in a different way. They offer some simple checking accounts that do not charge you many fees.

How to Look Fab with Wedge Boots

    Posted on August 21, 2013 @ 4:38 pm

Wedge boots, or some people call it wedgies, are boots with wedged soles. The sole at the back of the shoes are thick which makes it a high heel. While there are wedgies for men, it’s the women who wear them the most. The shoes was popularized in Italy during the 1930s by none other than Salvatore Ferragamo. You may click here to see more samples of wedge boots.

Some women are afraid to wear them because they think wedge boots are hard to style. What they don’t know is these boots are as versatile as ankle boots. In this post you will see how to wear them properly.

Wedgies can be paired with a party or laced dress.

Choose a dress that has a sleek design. You’ll never go wrong with black leather boots but if you want to turn heads, you may opt for boots with a sequined or glittery finish.

Wedgies can be paired with jeans and shorts.

Opt for fitted jeans and steer clear of loose pants to achieve a sexier look.  You may add a scarf for volume and create balance with the sleek bottom. Same goes with the shorts, but if you don’t feel like showing your legs, a pair of colorful tights would make you look perfect, too.

Best of all, wedgies can be worn during summer, winter, spring or fall. Choose short skirts instead of mid-length ones to avoid looking bulky. Look at how these celebs donned their wedge boots.

Now that you know how to look gorgeous in them, would you still be afraid to wear the booties?
