  • Painless Cure for Stubborn Splinter

    Posted on October 30, 2011 @ 1:22 pm

If your little one came home with a deep splinter, here’s the easy fix.  Tape a small piece of banana peel to the spot.  It contains digestive enzymes that seep into the skin and draw out the splinter.  After an hour, remove and rinse with soapy water.  And here’s a bonus, the polysaccharides and vitamin B6 and C in the peel will accelerate the healing process.

    Leaving for US soon

    Posted on @ 12:08 pm

My aunt who’s a nurse in the US encouraged my cousin to enroll for a medical assistant course.  She’s already a graduate of business administration but my aunt said it’s easier to find Medical Assistant Jobs in the US. Elaine is supposed to leave for the States next year and a medical assistant course is a good preparation for her.  She’ll get her certificate next week.

    I Know Where To Shop

    Posted on @ 12:08 pm

Last year I had a tough time shopping for plus size dresses.  The stores that carry big sizes are very limited around here.  This time though, I know better.  I found some online shops where I can easily order a sydneyscloset plus size dress.  There are only a few occasions I buy a dress; only for my birthday and Christmas and it’s sad when I can’t find a good dress because there are limited choices.  At least now I know where to shop for beautiful clothes.

    Soothe Chapped Skin

    Posted on October 22, 2011 @ 2:04 am

Cold weather can be rough on your little one’s lips.  To remedy chapped lips, apply red palm oil on his lips at bedtime.  The oil is very rich in saturated fats which help moisturize dry skin.  It also contains beta-carotene and delta-tocotrienol, antioxidants which help heal damaged, tender skin.  Your child’s lips will heal in no time with red palm oil.

    It Pays to be Patient

    Posted on @ 2:02 am

We didn’t shop much in Singapore because everything was too expensive.  Most of the items we’ve seen are a lot cheaper if you buy them here.  Hubs has seen a Casio Digital Camera that he really likes and he was too tempted to buy it.  It’s a good thing that I was able to convince him to wait until we get home because I’m pretty sure that it’s a lot cheaper here.  Well I was right because the price difference is really big.  It was more surprising when we checked the casio dealers on the internet; he’ll save $20 more.  It really pays to be patient.  He got his camera and we were able to save close to a hundred dollars.

Put an End to Doggy Diarrhea

    Posted on @ 1:51 am

If your little pooch has eaten something that didn’t agree with him, and now he has diarrhea, here’s what you can do to stop it.  Add plain canned pumpkin to his food.  Add two teaspoons per bowl for small dogs and two tablespoons per bowl for larger breeds.  Pumpkin contains insoluble fiber and will work within a few hours to firm up his stool.  Consult your vet if diarrhea persists.

    Doximity is Like Facebook

    Posted on @ 1:40 am

Doximity is making a lot of things easier for doctors and physicians. If you’re a doctor and you’re using iPhone, you might want to try this private social and business network. It’s exclusively for healthcare professionals so they can easily connect and communicate. Doctors need second opinions too; here in Doximity, they can easily ask second opinions from their colleagues through text messages. It’s fast and easy because they can easily reach each other even when they are busy attending to their patients.

By simply typing the name of the doctor, e.g. John Mensah MD, his specialty, clinical areas of interest, and other professional information will show in his profile. If you are a healthcare professional and you’ve learned to love Facebook, you’ll love Doximity too. Only, you connect with people you went to school with, did residency with, or work with.
