  • Swimmer’s Ear

    Posted on May 30, 2010 @ 3:30 am

A whole afternoon in the pool can turn into a painful ear infection if your little ones get water in their ears.  To avoid the ache, try this quick preventive measure:  Set your hairdryer on low and hold the heat source a foot away from your kid, aiming for each ear for 30 seconds.  Otitis externa, more commonly known as swimmer’s ear, results from an overgrowth of bacteria that thrives in wet environments.

    Mom’s Gift

    Posted on @ 12:46 am

Yesterday while shopping with my son, we stopped by the beauty aisle to buy a wrinkle cream for mom.  She won’t be the one to use it, it’s for her friend whose celebrating her birthday today.  Though she didn’t specify any particular brand, I took it she wanted me to buy a popular brand. I had a hard time choosing from the best wrinkle creams. I’m thankful for the girl who assisted me, she was very patient with all my questions.  I know it’s her job, but still, she was very nice.

    I Will Not Be Robbed!

    Posted on @ 12:10 am

Getting frustrated on my weight loss program (I’ve been losing only two pounds per month), I almost took quicktrim. It was recommended by a friend, saying it’s very effective and it’s endorsed by popular celebrities.  Good thing I waited and did a little research because I found out that it’s not even close to being a good value.  It’s just like other diet pills that don’t work at all.  Quick Trim gets rid of water weight, belly bloat and intestinal bulk.  Actually those are easy to lose, you can just cut back on your salt intake and they’re gone… and then they come back easily.  If I’m to take diet pills, I’d like something that will help me lose pounds permanently.

    Going Natural

    Posted on May 28, 2010 @ 12:51 am

I’m trimming down but would like to do it safely and naturally as possible. Aside from dieting and exercising, my doctor recommended some herbal slimming pills to help me lose weight. So far, my efforts have been rewarded. I’m steadily losing pounds and my all-natural medication is working just fine. There are more potent pills that can really make you lose weight faster, but as they they say, anything natural is always safer and better in the long run.

    Spring Cleaning

    Posted on @ 12:36 am

Furnaces are overworked during the winter season. A spring settles in, that’s the time when we start cleaning as the season gets warmer. Everything that needs replacing get replaced. That includes the everything, from the air condition filters to the furnace filters. At least by the time summer rolls in, I could just sit back and relax and enjoy the sunshine.

    Cool Option

    Posted on @ 12:21 am

Summer brings heat and dust. Curtains seals in heat and is notorious at collecting dust which causes allergies. That’s based on my experience. Curtains are also hard to maintain and is expensive. Installing blinds instead is not only more practical but a cool option. It’s also easier to clean and is more durable. You can even match it to the design of specific rooms. At times like this, I’ll go for what is practical and easier on both my pocket and energy.

    Posted on May 27, 2010 @ 4:52 pm

My father-in-laws joint pains may soon be gone. His medication and therapy seems to be working. He’s starting to do the activities he used to enjoy. Aside from his medication, he’s doing certain exercises that helps him to relieve joint pain. Twice a week, a physical therapist drops by to supervise his exercises. There was a time that he would just lie in bed because his joints hurt. At least now, he getting back his old self.

    No Man Is An Island

    Posted on May 24, 2010 @ 12:00 am

We all have roles to play in life. Friendships and businesses are built on trust and teamwork. Even organizations need these to function smoothly. Kids also need to learn early about cooperation and how they interact with others.  This is important for societies to function. This the reason why seminars, symposiums, lectures and team building activities are held. But learning can also be fun. Teachers and facilitators now have added games to show the importance of being a team player in every aspect of life. For these activities to be successful, ice breaker games are designed to breakdown barriers and inhibitions. People need to be open with one another.

Even parties need icebreaker games for everyone to get to know each other and really have fun. This way, old friendships are strengthened new ones introduced. Relationships are fostered and wrong impressions are debunked with activities that allow guests and families alike to get to know those in attendance.

People tend to be individualistic. We all need to be reminded that we are all part of one big group. To ensure that organizations and societies to function smoothly, we must know each and every member of  our particular sector or group. This way, we can work together in pursuit of a common goal. We all must know how to cooperate with one another. As the old adage says, “No man is an island.”
