    Obsessed With Age

    Posted on @ 3:03 am

Unlike me, my cousin who’s almost the same age as I am, is so obsessed with her age.  She has 3 kids ages 5, 4 and 1, and since her last child was born, she started noticing the lines and wrinkles on her face.  She feels that she’s looking old!  I told her a thousand times to quit obsessing about her it and live life joyfully, but she just won’t listen.  Well I guess it’s just normal to feel that way especially when you’re living in a culture obsessed with youth.

As an over-40 mom of preschoolers, she’s been obsessing about her age because most moms are much younger than she is.  I can sometimes feel that she’s getting annoyed with herself for dwelling on that but she’s also doing her best to do some positive things with those feelings.  She likes taking care of her appearance and health and I give her credit for losing 15 pounds.  Kudos to you cuz!

But she’s also thinking of cosmetic surgery and Edmonton Botox.  She asked for my opinion if it’s unhealthy.  Considering the overwhelming boost in this kind of business, I told her that I don’t think it’s unhealthy per se, but it is a serious matter she must decide for herself.  These kind of procedures definitely made wonders miracles to a lot of women and I’m sure a simple botox won’t hurt.  But still, she must think about it thoroughly.

    The Leaky Faucet

    Posted on @ 1:14 am

Got a call from MIL last night,  She’s complaining about the leaky faucet in her kitchen.  She’s used to working in an office all her life, now she finds it hard to be suddenly domesticated after she retired.  To add to her dilemma, their maid left last month so she’s left with all the houseworks, including cooking and fixing leaky kitchen faucets. Poor MIL only learned to cook recently.  She only let go off me when I promised to have hubs help him with the faucet this weekend.

    It Pays To Be Insured

    Posted on @ 12:15 am

My cousin and I were discussing earlier about the importance of having your family protected. I’m a strong believer of life insurance and she’s not so sure about it.  Another cousin batted in and I think we’ve both convinced her that she should get one.  I told her I can help her look for several life insurance rates and compare so she’ll have a better idea on what will best suit her needs.  She agreed so I’ll be dropping by her house tomorrow.

    More Fun For Less

    Posted on December 27, 2009 @ 1:02 am

In place of walking around the mall, you and little ones can create a great bonding time at home.  Do arts and crafts!  With coloring materials and paper, you can teach them how to make personalized cards that can be given on birthdays, anniversaries, Christmas and other special occasions.  This bonding time with your kids is not only more affordable but it develops their artistic sides too.  Have a great time!  🙂

    A Happier FIL

    Posted on @ 12:55 am

There are so many Direct TV providers offering  the best and the cheapest packages that choosing for the one that will best suit your needs can get very daunting. But you know, those attractive packages may not be always true. My father-in-law once made a mistake of choosing a Satellite Directv deal. He was not able to resist the attractive package, the low monthly payment and the many channels it offered. Only to be disappointed that most were Chinese and Indian channels, languages he cannot understand and shows he didn’t like to watch.

He never waited for the contract to finish the contract.  He got so pissed with the service that asked the provider to cut off  his subscription immediately even if it meant paying extra for the cancellation. After his bad experience, we helped him look for the best Direct Satellite TV providers on the web. It didn’t take us long though, to find one that he really liked.

Don’t be easily fooled with those attractive offers. Do your homework and ask questions so you’ll have a better understanding of what you’re getting into.

    Ask For Mr. Sparky

    Posted on @ 12:36 am

You know it’s a good practice to check your electrical wirings from time to time.  This is to spot early signs of damage or deterioration. Most house fires reported are caused by faulty electrical wirings.  Your home’s electrical wirings should be more thoroughly tested by a competent person like Houston Electricians often enough that there is little chance that the wirings will become dangerous between tests.

Houston Electricians should be able to give advice on electrical safety, and how much electrical power you will be needing for your household.

It always pays to seek advice from the experts rather than just asking someone who has no enough knowledge to do it for you.  Houston Electricians can perform these electrical works because they have successfully completed an assessed training course, run by an accredited training organization, and they have been able to demonstrate an ability to understand electrical theory and put this into practice.

    Beating The Winter Blahs

    Posted on @ 2:26 am

You do not really need a fitness trainer or a doctor to tell you how to beat the winter blahs.  You already know what those experts recommend, going for a good old-fashioned walk.  Walking can quickly improve your mood, restore your energy and pare any pesky pounds that may have sneaked onto your frame after months (or years!) of noshing on comfort foods.

But walking outside in the dead of winter definitely falls into the category of easier said than done, right?  Just thinking about the frigid temperatures and slushy surroundings already sends shivers down your spine.  So how do you think you would manage to walk despite those obstacles?  Buy a treadmill.  After all, treadmills still remain the king of fat burning aerobic exercise equipment.  This no-fuss option provides a quick and easy way to get all the benefits of a daily stroll and sidestep the hassles that come with other exercise routines right in the comfort of your own home.  An it does more than facilitate speedy slimming, it is great for cardiovascular conditioning as well.  Plus, it also takes the struggle out of a hectic, time-pressed life.

Check out the treadmills at Fitness Blowout by clicking on the link above.  They’re having a huge Christmas Eve liquidation event where you can save as much as 70 % on limited inventory.
