    The Singing Bowls

    Posted on @ 12:30 am

Yesterday, I was at a  friend’s house when I saw her writing about Crystal Singing Bowls. It’s the first time I have heard of it and the curious “me” can’t get it off the mind.  So as soon as I got home, I went straight to my computer and did a little research on them. I wanted to find out how these bowls can sing!

So the bowls came from Tibet and it’s true what their name says, they literally sing. The vibrations that are coming from the bowls create a beautiful song perfect for meditation and healing. The sound is believed to do everything; from making the hair on your arms stand up, to making you feel the need to sit down and let the reverberations fully envelop your entire body and your senses. It does not only have the ability to make you feel relaxed, the sound can heal too.  Oh, I want to have one too!  I’m not really into yoga but it’s the healing power of the bowl that I’m interested in.  My dad is diabetic, my mom has hypertension and hubs is always grumpy because of stress, haha.

The bowls are a little pricey but if you’re going to consider the amount of money you are spending for medication, the singing bowls are way cheaper.  The prices vary depending on the sizes of the bowls, the larger or heavier the bowl, the higher the price.  Click on the link for more info on crystal singing bowls.

    Make Them Shine Again

    Posted on September 28, 2009 @ 12:01 am

Are your sink, kitchen faucet and other metal fixtures covered in stains and dulling soap scums?  Don’t worry.  There is an easier way to clean them and remove the grunge without using those harsh chemical bleaches.  You can do it with fabric softener.  Simply dampen your sponge with it and dab on stained areas.  Let it sit for 10 to 15 minutes, then wipe it with a damp cloth.  The fabric softener’s fatty acids will quickly dissolve the stains, making your porcelain and metal fixtures sparkle again.

    I Love Shoes!

    Posted on @ 12:00 am

Have you seen the latest styles of shoes by Michael Kors? Those are the ones worn by celebrities.  My daughter is so fond of these gladiator sandals and is asking me to buy her another pair.  It was her birthday three weeks ago and I didn’t give her anything so I thought I’d buy her.

While I was lurking at Jildor’s, I saw some cute ballet flats. All I wanted was to get a pair of gladiator sandals for my daughter but I ended up purchasing a pair of flats for myself as well.  I found it really attractive and I like that it’s flat, soft and comfortable.  Oh, shoes are my weakness!  That is why I try to stay away from shoes websites as much as possible because I know I will always end up buying.

How about you?  What is your weakness?  Are you fond of shopping for shoes too?  Hop in and share your views.  🙂

    Mortgage Term Life Insurance

    Posted on @ 1:15 am

Have you ever thought of purchasing a mortgage term life insurance?  If you already have a life insurance, it’s about time you consider having a mortgage term life insurance as well.  It’s a type of insurance that is meant to pay off your mortgage or loan in case of your death while the mortgage is not fully paid.  This will ease your family the burden of having to pay for it just in case something happens to you.  At least they’ll still get whatever amount you leave them in full.

    Reboot Your Brain

    Posted on September 25, 2009 @ 1:52 am

Did you know that with just 10 minutes of meditation a day you’ll have less worry and you can stay calm even when your life gets rocky?  Yes, meditation reboots your brain.  Experts say, quieting the mind through meditation makes the brain’s entire matrix less responsive, delivering almost total immunity from the harming effects of stress, anxiety and tension.  If you still haven’t heard of Sant Mat meditation, read on…

Sant Mat is a kind of meditation developed in India centuries ago.  It is based on the view that faith creates vibrations of light and/or sound within the body.  It is believed to cure modern stress and according to the article I have read about Sant Mat, tuning in to those vibrations provides instant calm, plus it helps build a bridge to that deeper self, resulting to a lifetime of peace and happiness.  It sounds a bit complicated but I found a simple technique of doing it.

    meditation

To do:  Sit cross-legged in a quiet room.  Imagine energy flowing up and down your spine.  Then close your eyes and “gaze” at the light behind your eyelids.  You might see sparkles, colors, patterns or specks.  If your attention wanders to everyday concerns, return to your focus to the light’s movement.

Or you may find it easier to connect with sounds.  It can be your inner sound or sounds from Crystal Singing Bowls. This approach begins in the same manner.  Sit cross-legged with your eyes closed and listen to the sound within your ears.  Sit quietly, allowing the sound to resonate through your body.

For best results, meditate on either light or sound for 10 minutes daily, then gradually work up to 20 minutes.  I have tried it and I was surprised with the sudden feeling of alertness.  It’s as if there was a sudden energy boost after the 10 minute meditation.  Go ahead and try, you won’t regret it. 🙂
