  • The Last Bidder Wins

    Posted on August 31, 2009 @ 2:02 am

How about a Honda Hybrid for $1.24?  Or a nintendo Wii for $0.99?  When I first read about this in another blog, I said “What!? Could this be true?”  I gotta check to see what’s the catch, so I clicked and I landed on Rockybid.com.  Don’t laugh because I really did check, who wouldn’t want a brand new car for that price? And wow!  Someone really won a Gold Buillon for $43.30!  That piece is about $1099 if you’re going to buy it.  Some lucky bidder!

Rocky bid is a website where you can bid for different items featured on each day.  All you have to do is pick out an item from their daily auctions list and offer your bid. If you happen to be the last bidder of the hour, you win instantly.  A bid is worth $.075.  I know you’re wondering why you have to pay for the bid, but just think about the almost 99% discount you get when you win an item.

Here’s how it works:  Every time a person bids on an item, the price  of the item goes up by a penny. The person with the last bid when the time is up wins the item. It’s like playing in a real life auction, there’s this “going once, going twice” thing too.  If you bid and do not win, you will have a credit equivalent to the value of your lost bids that you can use to pay for another auction within 3o days. Plus, bidders are given reward points which they can redeem gifts cards, and other items, similar to a credit card reward program.

Wanna try your luck?  Click on the links for info.  Who knows?  You might be the new owner of a Honda Hybrid.

    Dealing With Your Inner Critic

    Posted on August 28, 2009 @ 2:57 am

Sometimes, an innocent remark from your child like “My classmate’s mom makes yummy brownies!” can leave you full of self-doubt.  Don’t get hurt, your child didn’t intend to be mean.

    tuna sandwich

To silence your inner critic, go and fix yourself a tuna sandwich.  Wondering what the sandwich has got to do with your feelings?  The adrenaline your body produces when your mind is in overdrive makes it hard to stop obsessing.  But the taurine in fish calms the nervous system and quiets the mind, ensuring you don’t forget that good parenting is more than like being Rachel Ray or Martha Stewart.

    Hold Back The Tears

    Posted on August 22, 2009 @ 1:55 am

Do soap operas make you cry?  If you’re like me who cries easily, I’m sure you’re embarrassed when family members’ eyes are glued on you when the crying scene starts.  Why, even light dramas make me cry!  Haha.  But this little trick I found, will surely stop the tears and make you look cool as everyone else.  Read on…

To stop the waterworks before they start, use the thumb and forefinger of one hand to pinch the thin web of skin between the forefinger and the thumb on the other hand.  Hold on tight until the urge to cry has passed.  The slightly painful sensation distracts your mind from the tear jerker, allowing you to come off looking as cool.

Where do you shop for toys?  Me?  Ever since I have discovered Shopwiki, that’s where I bought my kids’ toys.  I dreaded going to the malls during Christmas seasons, the traffic is so heavy, it’s so hard to park, the toy stores are too crowded and if you’re not-so lucky, the toy you want is out of stock.

The site offers a long list of toys and games, kids of all ages will surely have a blast browsing through it.  They have outdoor toys, creative toys and educational toys for your eager learners.
