  • Just Doing His Job

My brother works in a Senior Retirement Community in Connecticut.  As part of his job, he sees to it that their residents have a comfortable living lifestyle, making sure  they have time to make the most of their retirement lives.  Just recently, he upgraded the walk in tubs for each apartment.  The apartments, the grounds, and all the amenities are expertly maintained, including housekeeping, dining and other utilities.   They may be seniors but they take pride in being independent and self-reliant and maintaining a reassuring level of comfort leaves them  feeling secure with their surroundings.

For years, he’s been working hard to give the residents the best that is why he is so loved by them.   Congratulations bro!  Keep up the good work.

    Protect Your Home PC

    Posted on @ 12:03 am

What I really don’t understand is why some people waste enormous amounts of time trying to breach email servers, security networks and web servers when they can make use of their talent in more useful ways.  I thought it’s the big companies and government offices these intruders are after, but even private individuals are not safe from them.

I’ve seen a lot of anti-virus softwares online, some of them are even offered for free.  But how do we really know which of them will protect our PC best?  Hubs protect our PC by using a competent virus protection program, as most of these programs will stop trojans and backdoors from getting through our system.  Still, he feels this isn’t enough for internet security.  He wants to install an anti spyware as we were once a victim of this.

How about you?  What measures do you take to protect your home PC?  These viruses can easily penetrate your programs and the person behind it can easily destroy your program or get access to all your important information.  Secure procedures are not enough to stop them.

    I want a Nespresso

    Posted on @ 1:29 am

My birthday is coming up soon, and when hubs asked what I want for a gift, I told him I want a Nespresso!  I don’t want anything lavish I just want something that will be of use to me.  My coffeemaker is kinda old and soon I will have to let it rest so I need a replacement.

Knowing hubs, I’m sure he’ll buy me one.  🙂  He knows I can’t function well in the morning without my java, haha.  And what a way to start my day with a new espresso maker.

    Common Cavity Sources

    Posted on July 19, 2009 @ 1:51 am

You know that limiting the amount of sugar your child eats will help prevent tooth decay.  But this one is really surprising, feeding your child from a bottle for an hour may do more harm to his teeth than eating a dish of ice cream.  Why?  Because every time your child consumes something that contains sugar or starch, the bacteria in his mouth produce an acid that eats away at tooth enamel.  The longer his teeth are in contact with the food, more harm is done.  Some pediatricians recommend not to put your child to sleep with a bottle and avoid nighttime breast feeding.

To further reduce the risk of cavities, experts suggest feeding your child nutritious snacks (fruits and veggies) instead of sweets.  If he is thirsty between meals, encourage him to drink water or juice.  Sharing utensils with your child is not advisable, you could easily pass on to him cavity-causing bacteria through your saliva.  Use separate spoons if you need to taste his food or you want him to try yours.

Following these simple steps will help protect your child’s teeth. 🙂

    Why Blue Advantage?

    Posted on @ 1:50 am

It always pays to have a Blue Advantage plan.  Why, it’s the most affordable type of insurance that offers discounts for prescription drugs.  Just think about how much you can save on medication.  You know how hard it is to get sick nowadays and the cost of medicine rose significantly.  We must do everything we can to save money especially now that money is so slim.

    Stop Calling Me!

    Posted on July 17, 2009 @ 2:56 am

The cheesecake in the fridge is calling my name, lol, but I already had a slice after dinner.  If these cravings for sweets doesn’t stop soon, I might end up eating the whole cake, which is bad.  Really bad!  Even the best fat burners will be useless if I eat the whole cake, haha.

Seriously though, I’m looking for one that will work best in suppressing my appetite.  I keep getting bigger and bigger everyday and this has got to stop before I end up looking like a blimp!
