    A gift for Mom

    Posted on @ 1:44 am

Over the years, my mom’s hair has thinned drastically.  As a woman, I know she’s bothered by this although she’s not telling us.  She doesn’t like using creams or any other hair treatment products because she thinks it might only aggravate the problem because of the chemical content.  She only uses aloe vera, patiently applying it on her scalp everyday.  Her birthday is coming up, do you think it would be wise to surprise her with the hair loss remedy I found in the internet?  Reviews say it’s the most effective and natural ingredients were used.

    Make it easier for them

    Posted on March 26, 2009 @ 2:57 am

CSM104067Wooing your reluctant little patient into taking her medicine can be a real challenge.  And chances are, your kid has already developed some clear strategies on how to avoid taking their meds.  It could be as stressful for you as it is for them.  Here are some smart strategies to make medicating easier for you and your kid.

For liquid meds, numbing your child’s taste buds with an ice pop beforehand can help.  And for pills, have your child drink 2 gulps of juice before swallowing a pill, this will lubricate her throat so the tablet will slide down easier.  If the thought of swallowing a pill causes her to stress, try tucking it into a spoonful of ice cream or pudding, which will slip right down her throat.  You may also crsuh the pills and mix them into applesauce, pudding or ice cream.  I’ve aslo heard that putting some butter on the pill is also an effective way to make it slide down easily.

    about his grades

    Posted on @ 2:40 am

Still on my son’s graduation, hubs and I are both very happy that he did graduate.  We were really worried about that because he was absent for two days during their final exams.  He came down with a flu and diarrhea, he missed Math, Filipino and the National Achievement Test.  What really got us worried was, the school does not give make up exams.  You’re probably wondering what kind of school does not give students a chance to make up for missed exams?  But rules are rules.  If a student was absent during exam days, his grades will be based on his class standings.  We had to wait for 3 agonizing days to know the results, lol.  Unfortunately, the missed tests pulled his grades down.  But that’s enough reason to celebrate, right?  I just wish hubs and I could take him on a tour,  European cruises would be a perfect grad gift, but that’s another story. 🙂

    Proud Mommy

    Posted on @ 2:15 am

My son Joey, graduated from elementary school yesterday.  The celebration started with a Thanksgiving Mass followed by the graduation rites.  He did not get any academic awards but was given recognition for his loyalty.  It’s nice that he studies in a small school because you get to know everybody, even the parents.  It’s probably why the kids were tearful when they sang the farewell song.

Anyhoo, I just want to let you know that even without “flying colors,” I’m a proud mama! So to my siblings, friends and relatives in the US your online greeting cards would mean a lot to him.  Will be posting some photos next time. 🙂

    The Bus Driver

    Posted on March 24, 2009 @ 1:00 am

Someone sent this to me and I just had to share this beautiful story with you guys.

Several years ago, a priest from out-of-state accepted a call to a church in Houston, Texas.  Some weeks after he arrived, he had an occasion to ride the bus from his home to the downtown area.  When he sat down, he discovered that the driver accidentally given him a quarter too much change.  As he considered what to do, he thought to himself, “You’d better give the quarter back.  It would be wrong to keep it.”  Then he thought, “Oh, forget it, it’s only a quarter.  Who would worry about this little amount?  Anyway, the bus company gets too much fare; they will never miss it.  Accept it as a “gift from God” and keep quiet.

When his stop came, he paused momentarily at the door, and then he handed the quarter to the driver and said, “Here, you gave me too much change.”

The driver, with a smile, replied, “Aren’t you the new priest in town?”

    “Yes” he replied.

Well, I have been thinking a lot lately about going somewhere to worship.  I just wanted to see what you would do if I gave you too much change.  I’ll see you at church on Sunday.”

When the priest stepped off of the bus, he literally grabbed the nearest light pole, held on, and said, “Oh God, I almost sold your Son for a quarter.”

Scary isn’t it?  Other people are watching us, and not only that, they put us to test too.  What’s really important is we remember that we carry the name of God on our shoulders wherever we go and whatever we do.

    Webhosting Solution

    Posted on @ 12:00 am
Are you thinking of hosting your own web site? There are so many web hosting sites on the internet and almost all of them are offering attractive packages that deciding on which to choose can be very confusing.  Hosting it on your own has become so popular and easy that almost everyone is into it.  But whether you want one for yourself or a web site that will be used for business just make sure  you look for these features:
    • 1000 MB Hosting
    • Free Domain Registration
    • Accommodates unlimited number of domains
    • Unlimited Email accounts
    • 100% control over your domain and hosting through the control panel
    • 99.9% Uptime

You should be able to manage it with ease even with very limited knowledge on bandwidth, web space, transfer, etc.   Hosting your own site gives you a lot of benefits and an edge over other competitors especially if you are to market your products. It would be wise to do a little research first just sure that you find a good web hosting plan that will suit your needs.

Another misconception about web hosting is, it is expensive. Actually, it is not. Just as long as you do your research well, you’ll find out that a lot of companies offer it a very low price. But of course you have to prudent in your selection, choose a plan with all the essential features instead of going for all the attractive add-ons. When you’re done with your research, I’m sure you can find a good web hosting plan that will suit your needs.

    the broken knob

    Posted on @ 2:14 am

broken_knobThat’s what you get when you try to be frugal the wrong way.  You end up spending more.  I was at the flea market last month when I saw these cheap door knobs.  I bought two, one for the bathroom door and the other one is for the storage room.  It’s only been a few weeks and look at it now.  So before I get the “I told you so” look from hubs, I immediately replaced it with a Reid knob.  Investing in high quality and durable knobs is still a wise idea.
