    if things work out

    Posted on @ 7:39 am

One of my goals for this coming year is to travel with the whole family.   In the past months, our budget was slim so we had to put off the planned summer vacation.  Hopefully the coming year is a lot better than 2008, and if things turn out well, we’ll be meeting up with my brother and his family in Vegas.  He’s already checking out Planet Hollywood Towers by Westgate to make some reservations.  He used to work for the company so he’s more likely to get a discount.

Hi everyone!  I hope you like my new layout.  It was given to me by Dyana of  Buy Templates , she was so nice to offer me this template for free in exchange for some links.  I’d also like to give credits to Adie for helping me put it up.  The not-so techie me had problems uploading it to my c-panel and my dear Adie helped me.  🙂

    SOS Calls

    Posted on @ 5:40 am

Has it ever happened to you that you were in the middle of nowhere then your car suddenly stops?  It happened to us a few years back  when we went to Pamapanga to attend a funeral.  We were driving along NLEX when the car suddenly stopped.  We had no idea what was wrong, so I reached for my cellphone to call for help, but dang… there was no signal.   Good thing there was one motorist who stopped and helped us.  And we were lucky because he’s an auto mechanic.

It’s great that cell phone repeater and amplifiers are now available for vehicles.   These are designed to constantly check cell signal strengthand make adjustments in power.  At least now signals won’t be a problem in case you might need to make a call for help.

    I was sick…

    Posted on December 28, 2008 @ 4:25 pm

The common symptoms of flu are body aches, chills, fatigue, high fever and a cough with thick phlegm.  These symptoms had me down for two days.  I probably got tired with all the preparations for Christmas.  The symptoms usually last for about a week or longer but I’m glad I only suffered for two days.  If you have it too and want to feel better fast, try to treat it the same way as you treat a cold but add a cough syrup or suppressant at night to sleep soundly.  I know you won’t have the appetite but try to eat so you won’t feel so weak.  If there is no relief after a few days or symptoms disappear and then come back, it is time to see your doc.

    Making Sure It’s Safe

    Posted on @ 1:07 pm

Do you love shopping online?  Everyone seems to love the idea of shopping and banking on the internet because of convenience.  While it’s true that it’s hassle free please make sure that your dealing with legit web sites.  Personal information is sensitive and you could fall victim to unsafe sites.

To ensure every web site you visit is secure, check the address bar of your browser after arriving at a page that prompts you to enter personal information.  Secure sites change from “http” to “https”.  If it does not change, it would be best to avoid entering any data until you can verify with customer service that the web site is secure.

This is just a precaution especially now that times are hard, there are heartless people out there waiting to  take advantage of those vital information.

    How was your Christmas?

    Posted on @ 1:06 pm

Hello everyone!  I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas celebration with your loved ones.  My family did not have much compared to the past years but just being together during the Noche Buena made it perfect.  My kids were happy with the gifts they got from their Ninongs and Ninangs, they got a lot of money too.  I only had one gift, a  flash memory from hubs.  He knew I needed it for my files.  I thought of getting one while Christmas shopping but put it off for a while, turned out to be a good idea, hehe.

    Ignoring our shortcomings

    Posted on @ 12:44 pm

“Burying your head in the sand” is an old saying that describes someone who wants to ignore his shortcomings or those of others.  We used to believe that an ostrich buries its head on the sand to ignore danger but come to think of it, an ostrich can run really fast, kick powerfully and protect itself with its beak.  It is the largest bird and fastest bird so it doesn’t have to bury its head.

We should not find faults in the lives of others and neither should we bury our head in the sand when some things need to be confronted.
